This painting shows my newborn daughter, a colicky baby, finally comforted by my grandfather. That trip I learned that my grandfather had also been a colicky baby. This is the same grandfather my mother mentions at the end of the Holding Space video - she is telling me not to break a bird because it is a Christmas gift for him.
