I was thinking about mirroring in parent and therapeutic relationships when I created this work.

Water has a reflective quality on its surface in calm and quiet weather. The water is still. The bird, looking at the water, sees herself clearly. The depth and breadth of the water, where it has been, where it will go, storms it has weathered, are all a part of the water, and yet in that moment, simply reflect and honor the appearance of the bird.
